Trauma, memoria y cuerpo: el testimonio femenino en Colombia, 2012.
Colombian women have been victims of the endless conflict that has affected the county but their voices, until recently, have not been heard. The testimonial narratives of Vera Grabe, María Eugenia Vásquez, Mary Daza Orozco, Olga Behar, and Ana María Jaramillo challenge the official versions of the political and historical violence in the country. Refusing to obliterate history, these authors opt to re-write it and destabilize it by questioning the dominant discourses. This book seeks to explore these narratives as heterogeneous spaces that deal with particular traumas, violence and loss. With the aid of theories of memory, trauma, violence and gender and the recent feminist scholarship on autobiography and Testimonio, this work addresses what has been overlooked within the scope of the fields of Latin American and Women's Studies: an analysis of these women's personal narratives of memory and violence.
